With the championships approaching, the team was short on Wavo springs for the bottom bracket of their competition cycles. The spring sits within a bearing that holds the pedals in position.
With an important championship looming, the team turned to TFC to provide a quick turn-around order. The carbon steel Wavo Spring is ideal in a high force or bearing situation with restricted space, making it fit for purpose for the British Cycling Team.
The British Cycle team went on to compete in one of their most successful world championships, culminating in nine medals, eight of which are in the ten Olympic disciplines for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
TFC, technical director, Brian Goode “From round the world yachts to land speed records for steam powered vehicles, TFC have provided components for a number of world class companies, entrepreneurs, inventors and teams. We would like to think that our products have played a part, albeit a small part, in the story of their success.”
